Health & Safety
We pride ourselves on the depth of our safety culture. Much of this stems from the importance we place on the beliefs, values and attitudes of our workforce. We’ve had zero lost time injuries since July 2007 — that’s more than 8.5 million manhours. We’re committed to achieving industry best practice and maintain the latest AS/NZS ISO 4801 standards for occupational health and safety.
Nothing is more important than the safety and health of our people. Ensuring the well-being of our employees, those of our clients, subcontractors, and the community forms the foundation of everything we do. A culture of zero harm is fundamental to our values. This requires robust leadership and a high level of commitment and accountability by all employees. We encourage individuals to take personal responsibility for their own safety and that of their teams. People are empowered to speak up and act upon any safety concerns. From frontline workers on site to those in corporate office roles, our people are committed to making sure that everyone goes home unharmed at the end of every shift. We deliver ongoing training and regularly run safety campaigns to equip our employees with the latest skills and information. Our systems and processes provide the framework to ensure industry best practice in all areas of delivery.
We are committed to delivering quality outcomes for our clients. Our proven quality management system, processes, and procedures have been independently assessed to achieve the latest AS/NZS ISO 9001 accreditation. Walz Group’s quality management framework focuses on proactive management and measurement of our project execution processes to ensure quality throughout a project’s life-cycle. Our quality management system provides our clients confidence that their project goals and requirements will be achieved to meet – or exceed – industry standard.
Our highly qualified Quality Assurance professionals collaborate with clients to fully understand detailed requirements and translate these into project execution plans. They then work with teams to ensure project processes and procedures are aligned to meet client requirements and international quality standards. As part of our quality management framework, we are committed to continuous improvement, and our QA specialists act as a catalyst for change and improvement.
As a decades old company, we’re passionate about protecting the environment for future generations. Our teams work in locations and natural environments that are critical to a sustainable future. We recognise that it is not possible to deliver our services without having some impact on the environment. Walz Group is committed to minimising the effects of our actions by reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission associated with our work. Through our embedded continuous improvement processes, we will continue to foster environmental management systems and resource efficiency programs that sustain our natural environment for future generations.
Our environmental systems and processes meet the minimum requirements of AS/NZS ISO 14001, and ensure that we embed a best practice sustainability framework in all our projects. Through robust systems, strong leadership, proactive education, and a commitment by all employees, we identify and mitigate risks to the natural environment.
